Programs at-a-Glance

The Children's Forum administers a number of programs contracted through the Agency for Workforce Innovation's Office of Early Learning, the Florida Department of Health, the Florida Department of Education, the Department of Children and Families, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, as well as for private and foundation resources to support the mission of the organization. The Forum also maintains information about other programs of interest as a resource for parents and providers alike. The Teacher Education and Compensation Helps (T.E.A.C.H.) Early Childhood®
Scholarship Program

Funded by the Agency for Workforce Innovation Office of Early Learning, T.E.A.C.H. provides scholarships for early care educators and center directors to work towards earning an Associate's degree or credentials in early childhood education. More than 22,000 T.E.A.C.H. scholarships have been awarded to nearly 15,000 participants.

The Child Care WAGE$® FLORIDA Project

Sustained by local funding, WAGE$ provides education-based salary supplements to early childhood teachers working with children ages birth to five. WAGE$ has more than 1,300 active participants.

The Florida Directory of Early Childhood Services (Central Directory)

Funded by Florida's Department of Health and Department of Education, the Central Directory provides information and referral services to families of children with disabilities, developmental delay or special health care needs.

Child Care Training and Accreditation Provider Evaluation Services (CCTAPES)

Under a contract with the Department of Children and Families, CCTAPES evaluates applications and determines eligibility for Gold Seal Quality Care Accrediting Associations and Florida Child Care Professional Credential Training Programs.

The Quality Counts Career Center in Miami-Dade (QCCC)

Funded by the Children's Trust of Miami and the Early Learning Coalition of Miami-Dade/Monroe, the QCCC provides assistance to the early care and education workforce by developing career plans and reviewing career goals, accessing financial aid and scholarship opportunities, tracking and maintaining professional development through a secure Registry and assisting providers in the selection of appropriate training and educational opportunities. More than 2,500 child care teachers have had their professional development transcript entered into the Registry since March of 2008.

NACCRRA Army Child Care in Your Neighborhood Project (ACCYN)

Funded by the National Association of Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies by way of the U.S. Army, ACCYN assists military families from the SOUTHCOM base in Miami-Dade to find quality care for their children and apply for child care subsidies.
