Forum's Art Director Wins Prestigious Advertising Award

Joy Stover, Art Director for the Children's Forum, recently won an ADDY^® Award for her design work on the Forum's 2008 annual report. The ADDY^® Awards Competition is the advertising industry's largest and most representative creative competition, recognizing creative excellence and the very best advertising worldwide. Forum Welcomes New Board Member

Larry Pintacuda, Project Director for the Florida Afterschool Network (FAN), is the Forum's newest board member. He joins 11 other volunteer members who govern our initiatives and guide our vision. With expertise in their respective disciplines and a commitment to early care and education as well as school-age services, we are truly fortunate to have such a wonderful group of people who bring a unique perspective to our work. We welcome Larry and thank him for making a difference in the lives of children.

Hispanic Conference Hosts Forum Employee as Keynote Speaker

Carol Montealegre, Director of the Forum's Miami Initiatives (Quality Counts Career Center and NACCRRA Army Child Care in Your Neighborhood), was invited to be the keynote speaker at the Latino Early Childhood Conference 2009: 1st Latino Conference for Early Childhood in South Bend, Indiana on August 1. Carol discussed school readiness and kindergarten readiness and how children can get off to the best start. She was asked to be the keynote speaker from her decades of experience in early care and education on both a national and international level.
