Forum Goes Global with School-Age Services
The United States Air Force has contracted with the Children's Forum to conduct a series of presentations for school-age providers who serve children on military bases around the country and worldwide. The Forum's Director of School-Age Services, Jenn Faber, will host the presentations at 25 Air Force Bases stateside plus three overseas, including Okinawa and Tokyo, Japan, as well as Frankfurt, Germany. The presentations will focus on teaching strategies and activities that are developmentally appropriate and suitable for small groups of multi-aged children. Forum Unveils New Assessment Services Unit
To assist local communities in their efforts to improve the quality of early care and education programs and enhance child outcomes, the Children's Forum has launched a new Assessment Services Unit under the direction of Dr. Beverly Esposito, Vice President of Professional Development, and Debbie Conley, Director of Quality Initiatives.
Events and Online Registration Services Offered through Forum
The Children's Forum now offers an Online Event Registration System that helps you manage trainings, symposiums, luncheons, meetings and other business-related occasions that require registration. Designed as a web-based, data management platform, the Online Event Registration System permits the majority of attendees to register and pay for an event online, saving clients hours on the phone and less time processing paperwork.

The Children's Forum participated in Day on the Hill on March 12 as part of the National Association of Child Care Resource & Referral Agencies (NACCRRA) National Policy Symposium. Day on the Hill consisted of appointments with members of Congress in Washington, D.C. to discuss the importance of quality child care.
Partners and colleagues of the Forum visited various Florida congressmen and women and their staff aides including Congresswoman Wasserman-Schultz, Congressman Boyd, Congresswoman Castor, Congressman Klein and Congresswoman Castor.
National Public Policy Leadership Award Presented to Forum Board Member
Linda Foy, a board member of the Forum, was this year's recipient of the Sandra Skolnik Public Policy Leadership Award. The award distinguishes the accomplishments of one outstanding individual who contributes to realizing the National Association of Child Care Resource & Referral Agencies (NACCRRA) vision of a nation that supports the development and learning of all children by leading efforts to improve public policy.

Foy, who is the CEO of Childhood Development Services in Ocala, received the prestigious award March 11 at NACCRRA's National Policy Symposium in Washington, D.C. "Linda is most deserving of this recognition and has made a tremendous difference in the lives of others through her public policy efforts as well as her personal commitment for change," said Phyllis Kalifeh, president and CEO of the Children's Forum who nominated Foy for the award. "Her passion and advocacy for early care and education is unbridled; the kind that our friend Sandy Skolnik embodied and would be proud to bestow."
