Some of those efforts include improving child care licensing standards, increasing training requirements for teachers in child care centers and homes, advocating for universal prekindergarten in Florida, increasing investments in the early childhood workforce, expanding child care and school readiness resources for low income/at-risk children and many others.

"I would greatly appreciate sharing your support of my candidacy with your NAEYC networks and contacts," said Phyllis. "I must admit, this is a new endeavor for me - I am accustomed to advocating for children and those who work with them but much less comfortable in advocating for myself! With great humility, I ask for your vote and support in this election. Thanks so much for your commitment and dedication to our field."
